We're in early spring here in Philadelphia, and I just planted 7 new bare-root roses. They're so sticky and pathetic - it's hard to believe we'll ever be enjoying blooms like these. But I'll keep hope alive. Thanks for a great post on my favorite flower! Ahhh – what an encouraging post. We’re in early spring here in Philadelphia, and I just planted 7 new bare-root roses. Thank you so much. :) This is a really great guide for growing roses from cuttings. I have been wondering how to do this. There are some roses at my parents house that I would love to try this on. I might do my research a bit and see if I can find some more photos. This does change colour through flowering. Thanks! Hi Helen - you should definitely give them a go! They're so hardy and give back do much - I love roses! Hi Bernie - Thanks Bernie! I think we're going to get rained on today, but that suits me .. just a bit too dry here. We had a lovely *long* weekend :-) Hi Heidi – you could be right! I might do my research a bit and see if I can find some more photos. This does change colour through flowering. Thanks!

I killed them outright by planting them out far too soon! Maybe I'll give it another go with your instructions - not that I should be putting any more roses in the garden at the moment, but they would be lovely gifts! Double Delight is very high up on my favourites list too. It's so beautiful and smells divine (maybe a couple more of those wouldn't hurt)! Not sure about your Austin rose...there are quite a few pinky peachy ones aren't there?! Plus a couple of mine change colour a fair bit depending on when they are flowering. Does this look like it might be it http://www.davidaustinroses.com/english/showrose.asp?showr=3368 ?
